Born among the Raen of Othard, Bones Uzuka was raised in a small river settlement under the rule of the Garlean Empire. His family dealt in trade and coin, but like many under Garlean taxation, they struggled. From a young age, Bones learned that survival meant cutting deals in the shadows. He became adept at smuggling goods past imperial eyes, ferrying everything from spices to contraband magitek scraps.When the Empire’s grip loosened during the uprisings across Doma and Dalmasca, Bones seized opportunity. He had always loved games of chance, and he used gambling dens as cover for his smuggling operations. Over time, his charisma, ruthless cunning, and ability to “make people disappear without a trace” earned him a reputation. The underground crime syndicates of Kugane took notice.With the help of shadowy backers—likely a combination of Kugane yakuza and disillusioned Garlean defectors—Bones opened a lavish casino in Kugane’s lower districts (not in the main city’s tourist areas, but in the back alleys known to only the right people). Officially, it’s a place of entertainment for travelers, mercenaries, and wealthy merchants. Unofficially, it serves as a hub for:     Money laundering for pirate crews and smugglers.     Illegal trades in rare relics, voidsent trinkets, and “misplaced” Garlean technology.     A neutral ground for criminal negotiations, with Bones acting as arbiter (and always profiting).
